WHAT DO OUR FANTASTIC PATROLLERS SAY ABOUT BEING A MEMBER ?

As a new candidate with fairly strong ski skills I was surprised at the improvement of my ski skills. The small adjustments suggested by the trainers along with the weekly practice as a patroller have made me a much better skier both here and when I go out west to play.

Wild Mountain has been my home ski hill since the 1980’s, and the Wild Mountain Ski Patrol like a big extended family. The friendships and mentors I’ve known through the years have have had such a huge and positive impact on my life. Now, it feels great to give back by helping people in a meaningful way on a weekly basis. My favorite phrase when mentioning what ski patrol is all about is- ”We ski to save lives and relieve suffering.” I also highly value the leadership training and development offered through NSP. I’m grateful and proud to be a member of the WMSP!

As a member of the patrol I thoroughly enjoy helping others while being able to spend additional time on the snow. Upon completion of my candidate year, the medical knowledge, ski skill improvement, and relationships have proven to be the real benefits.

Joining ski patrol at Wild Mountain was one of the coolest things I’ve ever done. Along with all of the perks you get by becoming a patroller, I’ve met some of my best friends through this program. You get to be on the hill and skiing with the excitement of never knowing what you get to treat that shift. Also, if you’re looking for a great college resume builder with a lot of volunteer hours, this program is super great for that as well!

Being a ski patroller at Wild Mountain has been a great experience. It has given me life long friends of all different ages. It has taught important emergency skills and improved my snowboarding in such a short period of time. It is an excellent opportunity to be able to do this at such a young age. It has allowed me to impact people and help them on the ski hill and off the ski hill.
